yeah, that was the idea, but this week you get a sample of shots taken at the 500 club in 1992 and 1993... i figure this is o.k. since the 500 club is still around and i still like it... in 1953 an ex-cop opened the 500 club at the corner of 17th and guerrero in the mission (replacing a local butcher shop and drycleaner). it had a dance floor in the back room and a jukebox, as well as a fireplace (with real logs!) and a piano, which was often played by the owners wife. today the 500 club is your standard corner bar (happily the neon martini sign out front survived) with pool tables, a few booths and trendy crowds on the weekends. stop by on a sunday afternoon if you prefer to hangout with friendly old-timers...
