a hollywood studio...
in san francisco???

this week i stopped by a building south of market that has gold stars and hand prints in the cement out front... just like in front of mann's chinese theater in hollywood... handprints and scratched messages for stars like phyliss diller, whoopi goldberg, and george takei. the building itself is relatively indistinguishable, but it turns out it's a huge lot with a complete filming studio (i think james the giant peach was recently filmed there). rumor has it that it was originally backed by disney but it's going under since disney pulled out... (i did take a peek inside... but sorry... no pictures of that... secret hollywood stuff...)

walking by, the place seems to go unnoticed...

george takei's hand prints for you star trek fans...

just like hollywood, eh?...

about a mile away there are more prints in front of the diva hotel...

kids notice everything...
