a thoughtful photo essay on historic chinatown?

nope. what we have this week is a stroll up grant avenue (the heart of chinatown) on a rainy wednesday afternoon... while it isn't an indepth look at a famous and very interesting part of our lovely city, i hope it gives you a feeling for what it's like...




the main "entrance" to chinatown,
complete with archway and statues,
is on grant avenue at bush...




this reminds me most of chinatown
lots of produce and fish markets...




the bar in the background was recently included in a
local weekly's list of the "best bars in san francisco"
(though they warned that it's only for those
serious about their drinking...)
